Faces were something I doodled all over my school work, love letters, receipts, or any other piece of paper I had while waiting. In some ways my creativity sparked from boredom. I've always called it doodling because for a long time that's what it was, doodles. The act of creation is now doodling, even if I consider it a valuable work. As I grow artistically, so does my palette and willingness to go outside my creative comfort zone. Mimicking styles has always been a good way for me to develop my style, this piece is kind of a failed attempt at mimicking a style. In that failure I found this; a collage of wacky, beautiful, expressive faces buried under a rose.
